Diamond discs

Diamond disc for asphalt

Soft bond and wide gullets to never clog in bituminous mix.

Request a quote

Asphalt and bituminous mix are abrasive yet sticky materials: a standard disc immediately loads with bitumen and loses all cutting capability. The Sept Tools diamond disc for asphalt uses a soft metal bond combined with wide gullets that continuously evacuate bitumen and aggregates. It is the reference consumable for road sites, asphalt chasing and the creation of technical trenches in pavements. Validated for cutting in urban areas and development sites.

Technical specifications

Specifications and manufacturing

Soft metal bond, diamond segments with very wide gullets (up to 12 mm). Reinforced steel core to withstand bending on large diameters. Common diameters: 300, 350, 400 and 450 mm. Wet cutting mandatory to evacuate bitumen and cool the diamond. Compatible with thermal and electric road cut-off saws. Geometry designed to withstand the abrasion of rolled aggregates.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Why a specific bond for asphalt?

Bitumen immediately clogs standard discs. A soft bond wears continuously to release fresh diamond and avoids packing.

Is dry cutting impossible?

Technically possible but strongly discouraged: heat melts the bitumen which sticks to the disc and blocks cutting.

Which cutting depth?

Depending on diameter: a 350 mm cuts about 130 mm, a 450 mm about 175 mm. Enough for most road chasings.

How many linear metres?

300 to 800 linear metres depending on mix thickness and aggregate nature. Hard-aggregate mixes shorten life.
