Diamond drums

Diamond drum for concrete

Deep stripping and levelling of concrete with Sept Tools brushless planers.

Request a quote

The diamond drum is the par excellence planing tool to deeply strip a concrete surface, remove a degraded surface layer or create a rough profile for subsequent adhesion. Unlike a plate, the drum works in lateral rotational attack and removes several millimetres in one pass. Sept Tools offers drums specifically shaped for concrete, compatible with its brushless planers Castor, Plafond and Gazellomur Rabot. The essential tool to refurbish a degraded slab or prepare a surface before thick application.

Technical specifications

Specifications and manufacturing

Diamond segments mounted on a rotating steel drum. Diameter and width calibrated by target planer. Aggressive attack geometry to remove several millimetres in one pass. Compatible with Sept Tools brushless planers (Castor, Plafond, Gazellomur Rabot). Dry work mandatory with H-class central extraction. Variable life span depending on concrete hardness and removed thickness.

Use cases

For which job sites?

Levelling rework

Removing bumps or localised defects on concrete slabs before re-laying.

Deep stripping

Removing a degraded or contaminated layer on industrial slabs or civil works.

Adhesion prep

Creating a rough surface for adhesion of repair concrete or thick resin.

Levelling joints

Removing excess thickness during connections between slabs or cast elements.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

How much depth in one pass?

Depending on planer and hardness: 2 to 5 mm on average on standard concrete. On hard concrete, stay cautious at 2 mm to preserve the drum.

Difference with a diamond plate?

The drum attacks by lateral rotation and removes material in depth. The plate grinds the surface. To remove several millimetres, the drum is far faster.

Dry only?

Yes, and with H-class central extraction mandatory to comply with silica dust regulations.

How many m² per drum?

Highly variable: 50 to 300 m² depending on removed thickness and concrete hardness. Ask us for site feedback.
