Diamond drums

PCD drum for resin and coatings

PCD to shear resins, paints and thick coatings without clogging.

Request a quote

Epoxy and polyurethane resins and thick bonded coverings cannot be attacked by a standard diamond drum: their thermoplastic properties cause immediate clogging. The Sept Tools PCD drum for resin uses polycrystalline diamond teeth that shear the coating instead of abrading it. It is the fastest solution to deeply strip an old resin, remove a paint marking or eliminate a thick bonded covering. Validated for Sept Tools brushless planers in intensive use.

Technical specifications

Specifications and manufacturing

PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) teeth mounted on a rotating steel core. Shearing geometry specific to thermoplastic materials. Drum calibrated for Sept Tools brushless planers. Dry work mandatory with central extraction. Higher life span than a standard drum on resins thanks to the shearing principle. Compatible with industrial renovation and thick coating refinishing sites.

Use cases

For which job sites?

Epoxy stripping

Fast removal of old epoxy resins on industrial slabs before re-laying.

Thick paints

Removal of aged industrial floor paints in several millimetres of thickness.

Glued PVC coverings

Stripping of PVC or linoleum coverings glued with bituminous adhesive.

Thermoplastic markings

Removal of thick thermoplastic road markings on asphalt or concrete.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Difference between PCD and standard diamond?

PCD shears thermoplastic materials instead of abrading them. On resins and paints it is the only viable option since standard diamond loads immediately.

Compatible with fresh resin?

Yes, PCD also attacks new resins. Reduce pressure to avoid marking the underlying concrete substrate.

Life span?

Higher than a standard drum on these materials but lower than a diamond drum on concrete. Count 30 to 100 m² depending on covering thickness.

Extraction needed?

Mandatory, ideally H-class. Resin stripping can generate irritating particles that must be captured.
