Diamond plates

Diamond plate for soft concrete

Aggressive bond and open geometry to never clog on soft substrates.

Request a quote

Soft concrete, cement screeds and young concrete pose a specific challenge: their fine particles quickly clog standard segments and stall the diamond attack. The Sept Tools soft-concrete diamond plate uses a harder metal bond which wears faster to continuously expose new diamond crystals. This strategy prevents premature glazing and maintains a constant cutting rate. It is the essential reference for finishing screeds, fresh interior floors and concretes below 25 MPa.

Technical specifications

Specifications and manufacturing

Hard metal bond calibrated for soft substrates (resistance below 25 MPa). Diamond segments with wide gullets for aggressive fines evacuation. Anti-corrosion treated steel body. Available in grits 16, 30 and 60. Standard Velcro fastening for fast mounting. Variable life span between 600 and 1800 m² depending on substrate. Compatible with H-class central extraction.

Use cases

For which job sites?

Cement screed

Stripping and preparation of levelling screeds before tile or wood flooring.

Fresh slab

Grinding of concrete slabs poured less than 28 days ago without clogging.

Surface re-finish

Remove trowel marks and improve flatness on recent interior floors.

Lightweight concrete

Work on lightweight and fibre concrete while keeping productivity.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

How do I know my concrete is soft?

Soft concrete is recognised by resistance below 25 MPa, recent placement (less than 28 days) or lightweight composition. If in doubt, send us a photo or description.

Can I use it on standard concrete?

Technically yes, but the plate will wear out faster than necessary. To optimise cost per m², prefer a standard concrete plate on harder substrates.

Which grit sequence on a screed?

Start in grit 16 or 30 to open up, then move to 60 for refinement. For a smooth finish, end with a resin pad.

Does the plate clog on polystyrene or fibres?

Its open geometry strongly limits clogging, but on fibre concrete we recommend reducing the working pressure.
