Sept Tools concrete chaser: clean, straight and quiet chases

Electrician's and plumber's chaser for conduit and pipework chases in concrete, with dust captured at the source. French manufacturing in Roanne.

Free quote, no obligation, reply within one working day. Equipment guaranteed 24 months.

The concrete chaser is the reference tool for opening electrical and pipework chases in concrete, concrete block or slab. At Sept Tools, a French manufacturer based in Roanne, the Desman brushless concrete chaser and the Taupe chaser make straight, calibrated chases, with adjustable depth and width up to 50 mm and extraction to be connected at the source. Designed as a true electrician's chaser for conduit runs, and as a dedicated concrete chaser for embedded pipe, this range combines a motor with no carbon brushes (up to 20,000 h), a sound level of 62 dB(A) and IP65 sealing. Result on site: less silica dust and clean edges. Request a quote or a demonstration suited to your chases.

Traditional method vs Sept Tools

×

Conventional chaser or angle grinder

  • Chases that drift, chipped edges to rework with a chisel
  • Cloud of silica dust not captured
  • High sound level, impossible on an occupied site
  • Carbon-brush motor that heats up and wears in reinforced concrete
  • Approximate chase depth for pipework

Sept Tools concrete chaser

  • Straight chases calibrated to the conduit diameter
  • Source extraction, dust captured at the cutting point
  • 62 dB(A): chases possible in inhabited housing or an office
  • Brushless up to 20,000 h, little maintenance
  • Depth and width adjustable up to 50 mm for conduit and pipework
Why Sept Tools

Why choose French brushless tools?

Up to 3 diamond discs (Desman)

The Desman chaser cuts with 1 to 3 Ø 230 mm diamond discs in one pass (4 discs in two passes) for a calibrated chase and clean edges, with no rework with a chisel. The spacing is set to the diameter of the conduits.

Source extraction

Direct connection to a site vacuum: silica dust is captured at the cutting point, for a clean jobsite.

Brushless motor

Motor with no carbon brushes, power varies by model, 20,000 h: longevity and reduced maintenance compared with a brushed electric chaser.

Floor and wall design

The Desman chaser handles floors as well as walls for conduit and sleeve runs. The Taupe chaser, for floors only, completes the range depending on the length and configuration of the routes.

From the marked chase to the laid conduit

  1. 1

    Marking and setting

Marking the chase route, setting the depth and width up to 50 mm and the disc spacing to the diameter of the conduits.

  2. 2

    Extraction connection

Connecting the concrete chaser to the site vacuum to capture silica dust at the source.

  3. 3

    Cutting the chase

Running the Desman chaser on the wall or floor: Ø 230 mm diamond discs, straight, calibrated chase without chipping.

  4. 4

    Laying conduits or pipes

Placing ICTA electrical conduits or embedded pipework in a clean chase at the right depth.

  5. 5

    Clean finish

Neat chase ready for filling: less residual dust, no rework with a chisel, substrate preserved.

Challenges and solutions

Which challenges, and how to solve them?

Irregular chases to rework with a chisel

The problem

An entry-level electric chaser drifts, chips the edges and forces the chase to be reworked with a chisel, which wastes time and damages the substrate.

Sept Tools

The Desman chaser with Ø 230 mm diamond discs (up to 3 in one pass) produces straight, calibrated chases first time, at the exact width of the conduits, with no rework.

Uncontrolled silica dust

The problem

Cutting concrete without capture generates a cloud of crystalline silica that is dangerous for the operator and unacceptable on an occupied site.

Sept Tools

The Sept Tools concrete chaser connects to a site vacuum to capture dust directly at the source, at the cutting point.

Work impossible in inhabited housing

The problem

A petrol or carbon-brush chaser is too noisy and too dusty to work in housing, an office or an open shop.

Sept Tools

At 62 dB(A) and with integrated extraction, the Sept Tools electrician's chaser makes it possible to cut chases without evacuating the occupants.

Motor that heats up and wears quickly

The problem

In reinforced concrete, a brushed chaser heats up and wears its carbon brushes, multiplying stoppages and replacements.

Sept Tools

The brushless motor with no carbon brushes, up to 20,000 h, limits carbon-brush maintenance.

Embedded pipework poorly housed

The problem

An insufficient or poorly controlled chase depth prevents the pipe and sleeve from being housed cleanly in the slab or wall.

Sept Tools

The depth and width adjustable up to 50 mm of the Desman concrete chaser house conduits and pipework cleanly, in a single pass.

Use cases

For which job sites?

Electrical chases in renovation

The electrician cuts straight chases for ICTA conduit and flush-mounting boxes in concrete or concrete block. The Desman electrician's chaser calibrates the width to the conduit diameter, with no chipping on the edges.

Embedded pipework and plumbing

The concrete chaser cuts the chases for embedded PEX, multilayer or copper pipes. The depth and width adjustable up to 50 mm house the pipe and its sleeve cleanly in the slab or wall.

Occupied-site jobsite

Hospital, office, inhabited housing: at 62 dB(A) and with source extraction, the Sept Tools concrete chaser works without evacuating the occupants or saturating the premises with dust.

Floor and wall chasing

The Desman handles floors as well as walls for conduit and sleeve runs. The Taupe, for floors only, completes the range for chasing render, resin and bituminous coverings.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Which concrete chaser to choose for electrical chases?

For clean electrical chases in concrete or concrete block, the Desman chaser is the Sept Tools reference: up to 3 Ø 230 mm diamond discs, depth and width adjustable up to 50 mm and source extraction. The Taupe chaser completes the range depending on the jobsite configuration. Ask for a demonstration to match the choice to your routes.

How much does a Sept Tools concrete chaser cost?

The Sept Tools concrete chaser is offered by quote, with no public price list, because the configuration depends on your use (electrician's chaser, pipework, chase volume, associated extraction). Return on investment is quickly measured: less rework with a chisel, motor service life up to 20,000 h, and chasing productivity clearly higher than a conventional chaser. Depending on your situation, the equipment may be fundable under conditions, subject to prior approval by your insurance fund before purchase. Request a personalised quote.

Does a concrete chaser produce a lot of dust?

Without extraction, yes: cutting concrete releases silica dust. Sept Tools chasers connect to a site vacuum to capture dust directly at the source, which greatly reduces dust levels and makes it possible to work on occupied sites.

What chase depth with the Desman electrician's chaser?

The chase depth and width of the Desman chaser are adjustable up to 50 mm, which covers electrical conduit runs as well as embedded pipework. The width is set to the diameter of your conduits using Ø 230 mm diamond discs, up to 3 in a single pass.

Can the concrete chaser be used in inhabited housing?

Yes. At 62 dB(A) and with dust captured at the source, the Sept Tools brushless concrete chaser is suited to occupied-site jobsites: housing, offices, shops or healthcare facilities, without the noise nuisance or dust of a petrol or carbon-brush chaser.
