Industrial brushless concrete floor grinding

Professional brushless floor grinders for screed preparation, industrial surfacing and polished concrete finishing, without sparking or overheating.

Concrete floor grinding determines the quality of every coating that follows: epoxy, polyurethane, bonded tile or polished concrete. A poor flatness or untreated high spots will compromise adhesion and shorten the life of the finish. Sept Tools offers a range of French brushless floor grinders that combine torque, reliability and operator comfort. Each machine is engineered to deliver a uniform result on large surfaces without harming the operator over the long term.

Challenges and solutions

Technical challenges and answers

CSP profile non-compliant

Le problème

Epoxy applied on insufficient profile: delamination within 12 months, decennial warranty voided.

Sept Tools

Tapir 1600 W plus calibrated diamond pad: reproducible CSP 3 to 5 profile, resin spec compliant.

Visible scratches on polished floor

Le problème

The slightest grit defect appears under raking light on architectural polished concrete.

Sept Tools

Variable speed 500 to 4800 rpm constant torque, progressive diamond then velcro passes.

Flatness out of tolerance

Le problème

Industrial slab out of spec: client refuses acceptance, costly remediation.

Sept Tools

Tapir brushless 1600 W constant torque: tolerance achieved in a single pass.

Multi-layer bonded coatings

Le problème

Epoxy adhesives accumulated over 30 years: chemical strippers ineffective, schedule blown.

Sept Tools

Aggressive diamond pad IP65: mechanical stripping 60 to 80 m² per shift.

Floor silica OEL breach

Le problème

Floor grinding without extraction: concentration 200x above 0.1 mg/m³, enforcement notice.

Sept Tools

IU33 Longopac, IU40, IU51 and IU81 class H HEPA H13 connected as standard, source capture.

Industrial duty reliability

Le problème

30 to 50 h per week: brushed motor lasts 600 h, replaced every 3 to 5 months.

Sept Tools

Brushless x14+: 4,000 to 6,000 h with no service, IP65, parts stocked in Roanne.

Use cases

For which job sites?

Logistics warehouses and platforms

Slab surfacing to meet forklift flatness tolerances in logistics specifications. The Tapir processes 80 to 120 m² per shift on standard concrete with a single operator.

Retail and hospitality polished concrete

Mirror finish through progressive multi-grit passes to expose aggregates. Premium interior architecture projects: 15 to 25 m² per shift depending on target finish.

Multi-storey car park refurbishment

Stripping of degraded resins, paints and tyre rubber before requalification. The Tapir clears level after level with one operator, 60 to 80 m² per shift.

Industrial floor prep before epoxy

Porosity opening and CSP profile for resin applicator decennial warranty. Sectors: food processing, pharma, data centres.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Which grinder for decorative polished concrete?

The Petit Potam XM165 is our reference for polished concrete: compact, accurate and ideal for the multiple passes needed to reach mirror finish. Pair it with a Turbo7 vacuum for clean operation.

How do I meet silica exposure thresholds?

All our grinders connect directly to our class H vacuums to capture dust at source. The airflow and HEPA filter combination keeps operator exposure compliant with French OEL regulations.

Can I grind a wet floor?

Yes. The IP65 rating allows wet grinding. We recommend a dedicated wet/dry vacuum and a drying procedure between passes for polished concrete work.

What motor power should I aim for?

For daily professional use, we recommend a useful motor power of at least 1600 W, the standard rating across our brushless floor grinding range.

Are your grinders eligible for long-term rental?

Yes. We offer long-term rental contracts including maintenance for businesses looking to spread the investment. Contact us for a tailored quote.
