The concrete wall grinder built to last

Wall grinder, long-reach grinder, concrete wall grinder: whatever you call it on site. The Sept Tools wall grinder is compact, made in Roanne and built for intensive renovation work.

On a renovation site, the concrete wall grinder is the tool everyone needs and nobody wants to hold all day. Raw concrete after stripping (laitance, formwork fins, cold joints), paint to remove, degraded plaster, PVC adhesive, wallpaper, resin, bitumen: the Sept Tools concrete wall grinder handles all these substrates. The Petit Potam XM165 weighs under 5 kg, delivers 1600 W of constant torque and integrates with Mygale gantries and Gecko balancers for long runs. A professional wall grinder designed in Roanne, with spare parts in stock and a national 48-hour service network.

Challenges and solutions

Technical challenges and answers

Vibration and wrist RSI

Le problème

Carbon-brush grinder: 8 to 12 m/s² vibration, ELV exceeded in under 2 h, chronic RSI.

Sept Tools

Petit Potam: 0.35 m/s² measured at handle, x14+ motor lifespan, zero brushes.

Torque loss under load

Le problème

Brushed motor loses torque on dense raw concrete, forcing operator to push harder.

Sept Tools

Brushless 1600 W constant torque: no speed drop even on reinforced laitance.

Surface profile not achieved

Le problème

Without speed control the surface profile is uneven, compromising coating adhesion.

Sept Tools

Variable speed 500 to 4800 rpm with constant torque, calibrated diamond pad for code-compliant profile.

Uncaptured dust in renovation

Le problème

Grinding without extraction: 20 to 40 mg/m³ silica, 200 to 400 times the OEL.

Sept Tools

IU33 Longopac HEPA H13, source capture at 65 l/s, exposure divided by 50.

Noise on occupied sites

Le problème

Angle grinder at 90 dB(A): neighbour complaints, time restrictions, lost contracts.

Sept Tools

60 dB(A) brushless: permanent cohabitation, no time restrictions on sensitive sites.

EU silica OEL 2027

Le problème

Limit dropping from 0.1 to 0.05 mg/m³ in several EU states: unextracted tools will be banned.

Sept Tools

HEPA H13 source capture, IP65 sealed, class H compliant with anticipated 0.05 mg/m³.

Use cases

For which job sites?

Office and residential renovation

Grinding 200 m² of concrete walls per shift in offices, schools and healthcare facilities. Petit Potam delivers 30 m² per operator per shift for paint prep, while Gazellomur reaches 60 m²/h on long runs.

New-build concrete cleanup

Construction sites and civil works: removal of formwork fins and cold-joint correction. Typical rate 25 to 35 m² per shift depending on concrete hardness.

Mechanical stripping before refurbishment

Social housing and office refurbishment: removal of PVC adhesives, wallpaper and degraded coatings. Gantry-mounted Gazellomur clears over 50 m² per day with a single operator.

Hospitality and interior architecture

Progressive multi-grit grinding to reveal aggregates on exposed concrete walls. Hotels, retail, lofts: 10 to 15 m² per shift in premium finish.

Real-world conditions

External concrete wall stripping

External concrete wall stripping, Gazellomur, retaining wall.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Which wall grinder for raw concrete?

For surfaces below 50 m², the Petit Potam XM165 is the best balance of power, ergonomics and compactness. For larger areas, the gantry-mounted Gazellomur with load compensator dramatically reduces operator fatigue.

Are your grinders compatible with class H vacuums?

Yes. The entire range works with the IU33 Longopac and the IU40, IU51, IU81 range. All models meet class H requirements with HEPA H14 compatibility for hazardous dust collection including crystalline silica.

What is the standard delivery lead time?

Machines are assembled in Roanne and shipped within 5 to 10 working days depending on stock. Short-term rentals can be offered as a stopgap while waiting.

Can I trial a machine before buying?

Yes. We regularly run on-site demonstrations across France. Contact our team to schedule a trial on your job site with your actual material.

What warranty applies to the brushless motor?

All brushless motors carry a 2-year parts and labour warranty. The brushless design typically delivers fourteen times the lifespan of equivalent brushed motors in real-world use.
