Concrete bush hammering: three jobsites, one philosophy.

Floor, wall or ceiling: a brushless range dedicated to mechanised concrete bush hammering, for resin bonding, non-slip finish or heritage aesthetics.

Concrete bush hammering consists of creating a controlled relief on the surface of a slab, a wall or a facing, through the repeated mechanical impact of a bush hammer. This surface preparation pursues three distinct goals: increasing the bond of epoxy or polyurethane resin, producing a durable non-slip finish, or revealing the character of the concrete in heritage renovation. In every case the challenge is the same: obtaining a uniform roughness, measurable by CSP profile, without damaging the reinforcement or exhausting the operator. Sept Tools builds a range of dedicated brushless bush hammers in Roanne: the Bouchardeuse Fouine XB165 handles floors, the Bouchardeuse Potam handles vertical surfaces, and the gantry sets cover walls and ceilings with less carrying effort. The brushless motor, with no carbon brushes, is designed for the repeated impacts of bush hammering and for obtaining a uniform grain across the whole bush-hammered area.

Bouchardeuse Potam

Bouchardeuse Potam

The Potam bush hammer has been developed with our brushless motors (low noise, low vibration, extended service life and waterproof) for renovation, construction, demolition, asbestos removal and dismantling. It handles your bush hammering tasks on render, resin, bituminous coatings and more. This bush hammer is compatible with various ergonomic tools from our range, enabling wall bush hammering. This machine must be used with an electronic speed controller IP65 and an industrial vacuum with a LONGOPAC bag.

Gazellomur

Gazellomur

The Gazellomur is a motorised tracked carrier: it supports and moves a Fouine grinding head, with no physical pulling or carrying effort. The same carrier also takes a bush-hammering or planing head. Grinding: 30 to 90 m²/h depending on the substrate (30 to 50 on plaster and adhesives, 20 to 40 on bitumen and resins). 2200 W, IP65, 124 kg. Compatible with the IU33 Longopac, a Sept Tools vacuum declared as class H. Built and assembled in France.

Mygale

Mygale

The Mygale gantry carries the grinder for wall work, taking the load off the operator's arms. 31 kg (gantry only, without balancer), stable H frame, adjustable height up to 2.70 m (2.80 m working height with the machine mounted), 2.60 m usable height. Compatible with Petit Potam and Desman. Roanne, after-sales diagnosis within 48 working hours.

Gazelle

Gazelle

The Gazelle trolley carries the Fouine XB165 (or other compatible machine) for strain-free ceiling grinding. 36.2 kg, working height up to 3.5 m (4 m with the extension arm). Single-operator ceiling sanding throughput: 12 to 16 m²/h on concrete, x5 vs manual pole. Compatible with the class H IU33 Longopac vacuum. Built in Roanne.

Eland Bras de ponçage

Eland Bras de ponçage

The Eland grinding arm is a ceiling grinding trolley fitted with a grinding arm module to support the Fouine XB165 grinder.

IU33 Longopac

IU33 Longopac

The IU33 Longopac is our class H construction vacuum for HEPA H14 source capture. 1100 W, 25 kg, 200 m³/h flow. Longopac continuous bagging system: the full bag is sealed and separated without exposing the operator to the collected dust. Compatible with all our machines except the Castor and Ceiling Planer planers. Source capture of crystalline silica. EN 60335-2-69 annex AA. Roanne, after-sales diagnosis within 48 working hours.

Use cases

For which job sites?

Floor, wall or ceiling: which bush hammer to choose?

On floors, the Bouchardeuse Fouine XB165. On walls, the Mygale + Petit Potam set covers standard jobsites, and the Gazellomur Bouchardage reaches 42-63 m²/h. On ceilings, the Gazelle or Eland sets with Fouine bring the strain reduction needed for prolonged overhead work.

Why bush hammer concrete before resin or paint?

Manufacturers of industrial epoxy resins and technical paints require a precise surface profile, stated in their technical data sheet. Mechanised bush hammering prepares the substrate: the profile to reach is the one given in the coating's technical data sheet. It is the reference preparation before any high-performance coating.

Aesthetic bush hammering: heritage, decorative concrete, glossy finishes

In heritage renovation, bush hammering reveals the aggregates and imitates traditional stone dressing. In contemporary architecture, it produces a natural stone effect on concrete facades. In decorative concrete, it serves as a rough base before gloss polishing. Three aesthetic uses, one requirement for consistency.

How do our brushless bush hammers change the game?

The brushless motor, with no carbon brushes, is designed for the repeated impacts of bush hammering. Coupled with built-in strain reduction (Mygale gantry, native Gazellomur, Gazelle ceiling trolley), the operator keeps the pace over a full day with less strain.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

How many m² per hour for floor, wall or ceiling concrete bush hammering?

On floors with the Bouchardeuse Fouine XB165, expect 10 to 16 m²/h on standard concrete. On walls, the Mygale + Petit Potam set sustains everyday jobsites, and the Gazellomur Bouchardage reaches 42 to 63 m²/h. On ceilings, the Gazelle or Eland sets with Fouine deliver 8.4 to 11.2 m²/h on concrete.

What marking depth on raw concrete?

Sept Tools mechanised bush hammering acts on the concrete surface according to the contact pressure and the bush hammering grain used. Respect the working depth given in the machine manual.

Can exposed-aggregate or polished concrete be bush hammered?

Yes. On exposed-aggregate concrete, bush hammering evens out an existing relief to prepare a finish or a resin. On polished concrete, it serves as a base to turn the finish towards a rawer look in renovation. In both cases, the bush hammering grain is chosen according to the intended final look.

Are Sept Tools bush hammers compatible with class H extraction?

Yes. All our bush hammering solutions (Fouine, Gazellomur, wall and ceiling sets) connect natively to the IU33 Longopac (class H, HEPA H14). Source extraction makes it possible to work on occupied sites or in sensitive zones.

Rent or buy: what TCO logic?

For occasional use, renting through our partners may be better suited. For regular use, buying is often advantageous thanks to permanent availability, accumulated operator training and full control of the fleet. See the detailed comparison on our rental partners page.

What is the difference between bush hammering and shot blasting?

Bush hammering creates a relief through localised mechanical impact. Shot blasting is a different process. Bush hammering is preferred for high-end resin bonding and controlled aesthetic finishing.

Can grinding and bush hammering be combined on the same jobsite?

Yes. The Gazellomur is a single carrier with interchangeable heads: you replace the grinding head with the bush hammering head.
