The Fouine XB165 runs at a variable speed from 500 to 4,800 rpm, adjusted to the diamond pad grit and the substrate: raw concrete, laitance, render, paint, or adhesive residue.

Yes, the Fouine XB165 is rated IP65, sealed against the concrete and plaster dust that falls back onto the head during ceiling work, and can be cleaned with water between jobs (no high-pressure washing). Combined with Class H extraction at the pad, it is built for continuous overhead use rather than occasional light sanding.

The Fouine XB165 uses a brushless motor with no carbon brushes to wear out, rated for around 20,000 hours of service life. That removes the recurring brush replacement and motor burnout that limit a corded ceiling sander, and it is the reason the head is mounted on a trolley or arm rather than sold as a disposable tool.

It takes the Ø165 diamond cup wheels with a clover bore, plus the velcro and ceramic pads in the range. The wheel to choose depends on the material to grind (concrete, render, resin, epoxy) and how aggressive you need it.

The brushless motor has no carbon brushes to replace, so maintenance stays light. Clean the housing and the extraction port after each shift and check the wheel is properly fitted.
