Interior coatings, whether lime, plaster or ready-mix, require careful sanding before the final finish is applied. The Sept Tools diamond plate for coatings is designed to deliver consistent work without scratching the substrate, with a binder suited to soft and powdery materials that does not load. It is mainly used by painters, interior facade specialists and renovation companies who need to even out a scraped coating layer or refine a wall skim coat before painting.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered

Suitable for lime coatings?

Yes, with moderate pressure. Lime coatings being softer than plaster, favour 80 to 120 grit to avoid digging into the substrate.

And for fine cement coatings?

Yes, on thin layers. For thick old cement coatings, a soft concrete plate is more suited.

Which grit before paint?

A 120 to 180 grit gives a sufficient finish for most paints. For a high-end matt finish, end with 220.

Dry or wet work?

Dry only, with class H extraction. Water would damage the coating and offers no benefit on these powdery materials.
